    bob

well this is a good way to bribe everyone to post their bob. i wouldent have posted otherwise. well to start off my bob is a voddoo brand bag. i got it at the army surplus for about 60$. it has a hydration slot and has everything i was looking for in a bag. i opted for the black color. since i have so many pictures i will post a discription of each picture under the link to save on some confusion as to what is what. there are a few other things that dident make the pics that i would rather not share

this first photo is an over all of the bag and firearms i will be taking with me

this is a photo of my ruger 10/22, witness 9mm, beretta 96 .40 and extra clips

here is a pic of the bag and all of the contents

these are my food packs. its hard to tell what all is in there but it will last about 5-6 days

this is my cash, coins and silver bullion for bartering or bribing.

this is my first aid kit and sas booklet.

back side of first aid kit

area maps and compass also so hunting and tracking guides.

rei candle lamp and extra candles.

sweetwater water filter with drops and water bottle attatchment

cooking and clean up gear. stove, scrubber, can opener, extra fuel

    tools of the trade.

    gloves, flashlight, headlight, extra batteries.

    firestarters, glue and tape

more cooking supplies, water bottle, and nylon stuff sacks.

random supplies, 550 cord, knife and sharpener and extra handgun ammo

    hammock and hanging straps

    gun cleaning kit

    waterproof jacket

extra straps and buckles for the pack, snake bit kit, bandanna, usb with all my personal info and id's and toilet paper.

    my hygiene pack.

i put this last because its not important. it is a custom cricket box ment to hold and house insects. i get bored outdoors sometimes and its nice to collect interesting bugs. its mainly for housing crickets in between fights. thats right i said fight. if you have ever seen a cricket or other bug fights you know what im talking about. does not serve any other purpose than to amuse me.

i hope you enjoyed my bob it has been a work in progress for the last two years. i am very proud of it but never get the chance to show if off. there are a few things that i still need to add but not much just a few odds and ends.

Post your BOB contents, it's a great way to figure out what you are good on, and what needs to improve. Even if it's a work in progress, that's ok!

          Plan A and B

Plan A has been used about 6 times do to power outages during the winters, 25' travel trailer with 40 gal. water (empty during winter) and 2 propane tanks are full cant recall the tank sizes. all necessities are in the trailer to include an emergency radio, just hookup, load up perishables and go, who wont to mess around when Its time to go camping, its always ready and so am I.
The trailer is so close to the house that it might not make it during an earthquake but great for a hazardous spill or whatever that may require an evacuation.

You may not see everything clearly so I wrote it down.

Plan B: Pic 003 homemade knifes to make a spear, matches, 2 knifes and sharpener, 2 magnesium fire starters, fire steal, flash light, cotton balls/vaseline, wire for snares, steel knife sharpener, two way radios, glow sticks, small flashlight, signaling mirror, D ring, compass, 60' nylon rope 3/8", para cord 550 with 60', gloves.

Pic 004: fishing tackle and line, duct tape, note book, file, manual, clear plastic poncho (mostly to capture water), water purifier (KATADYN hiker pro), 5 bags of oatmeal, water purifying tablets, small shovel, folding shovel, axe, mess kit, knife sharpener.

Pic 005: First aid book, aspirin, tent, emergency blanket, emergency sleeping bag, snake bite and sting kit, surgical kit, sleeping bag -15, small pick, 2 ponchos.

Things I packed accidentally before I took a pic.
Salt, personal hygiene, sewing awl, survival bracelet.
          In my lumpy chair

Here is my BOB. It's what I got.

everything here is pretty self explanatory

The pink bag is dryer lint LOL

Convertible pants, wicking clothes, my maps of The Winds(since that's where I'm going in Aug. and Sept.) and my solitare bivy tent

              My Big Agnes pad

              North Face Bag

This is the most important part of my BOB. Coffeepress, favorite flavored coffee, and of course the Butterfinger that will get eaten tonight!
I don't know why my pictures won't show up. I did what I was suppose to. Sorry

Sorry I missed the vote. Mine is a 2'fer, it's a tie. Both "Lostinoz" and "unswydd" get my vote. It's great to see women prepping and thinking ahead. Throughout history you've been the keeper of the family and homefront. Any woman who wants to learn and be prepared for themselves and their families is a winner in my book! My hat is off to you............

unswydd, like your quilt. How do you like that compass/thermometer/mag glass/whistle thingy? Who makes it? How accurate are the compass and thermometer? Didn't see a water container?

Lostinoz, you should bail on the twine, (get it?!) and pick up 100' of legit 550 cord. You pick the color just make sure it's real with the 7 inner strands. I'd get rid of the "bar" soap. Even with a soap dish it'll be a mess to pack and travel with. There are a ton of gel and liquid soaps that do it all. Dr Bronners liquid soaps are fantastic. They do it all. On cold mornings a hot washcloth bath with the Peppermint soap can be down right invigorating! It won't spill, leak, or get all gunked up. I love my vaccum packer as well but.............do you have ziplock bags for your gear once you open the vaccum bag?

Denvernative, same question 'bout the vaccum bags. Do you have ziplock bags to crossload your gear into once the vaccum bag is breached? Great taste in eating utensils though! I also really dig that your pack is "clean" on the outside. People who look like hobo's with gear dangleing all over their pack are just poor planners that bought the wrong sized pack for their needs in the first place!

Above is IMHO of course, and great job to everyone who posted!

Pic of my woman at the range shooting her laser equipped S&W snubby. She loves shooting, but preps have been tough. She's coming around though. I think she just figures I'll handle everything. She's right but she brings certain skills to the table that I consider essential.

                    Mags, thanks. :)

Actually, the twine is not for anything "survival related" other than my sanity. I have a weaving type thing I do with it to keep my hands busy. :) I guess I could leave it behind. I DO need rope. I don't have any in my BOB.

                    Liquid soap I can do..

I never really thought about the ziplock bags until I saw yours. That was one of the reasons I asked where you got your bags. The bags would work much better, I agree.

I really want to focus on our first aid kits and am going through the links you provided. I tried to get hubby to post his BOB, but he didn't want to. His is MUCH better (and heavier) than mine. :D

I have been re-thinking a lot of items I have, thanks to the people here who have posted their BOBs, which I think was the point of this contest. ;)

For aid gear the first links I'd checkout are http://www.chinookmed.com/ and http://www.narescue.com/ lots of gear and choices!

These are the bags AMK's use in their "Fast & Light" series. I have a bunch of them but Freezer Ziplocks work pretty much as well.
Chinook is a Veteran-Owned and Native American Veteran-Owned 8(a) Small Business that provides custom medical solutions for the harshest environments

I do have things in ziplock bags. I don't have a vacumn bagger. As for soap, I have liquid, I thought I got it in there. Bronners is definately on my list. I have so much stuff I just didn't get it all in. It was getting late and the contest would be over. Not that i thought I had a chance it was just fun. LOL
Thanks for the kind words Mags, it's not every day a woman gets praise from a man she's never met. :-) I like the pic of your gal. She's a good shot! Pretty too. Good for you!

UNSWYDD, the equipment comments you replied to were for Lostinoz. I did want to know bout your thermo/compass gadget though...

People shouldn't be worried bout posting their gear whether just starting out or been living in a bunker for years. I can still vividly remember the $1 thin cheap ass plastic table cloth my mother got me to use on a week long river trip when I was 12. That SOB lasted 10 minutes into the first night. It was a long week. Point is everybody starts somewhere!

The girlfriend says thanks! (I taught her how to shoot;)) She is pretty hot though.

(Gratuitous pic of said girlfriend :D)
