Interesting. I carry a coin as well, but more for religious purposes. It is about the size of a quarter. I call it my Guardian Angel coin, and just carry it for good luck.

    Morgan,

It's not a prepping thing, it's actually a special coin that some military units have made up for your specific unit or division and if another vets "challenges" ask about your unit you both pull out your coins. Then the BS session begins. LOL! Mostly a trust thing I guess.

My carry at all times seems to change all the time. I live in WV and the and what I wear is mainly determined by the current weather. Today was a balmy 88 F with 60% humidity and recent summers have been exceeding 100+F and winters regularly get into the single digits with varying snow depths. So here is what is always with me regardless of the weather.

    Kershaw assisted open knife

    Magpul phone cover
    Citizen solar titanium watch
    wallet
    cash
    2 credit cards
    WV Drivers License

    key chain survival tool
    leather belt

Always at hand or on me.
    Glock 43
    2 extra mags
    leather holster for G43

    Shemagh scarf
    survival button compass

In my vehicle where ever I go
3 Liters of water in Camelback
    Trauma first aid kit
    Tactical flashlight 600 Lum
    Get home bag with:
    5.56mm Nato SHTF Pistol
    4 - 5.56mm Magpul 30 round magazines (loaded)
    50 rounds 9mm JHP
    Cooking kit
    Extra cloths
    Light rain jacket

We are at home for most of the time. So I have a lot of these things in trunk of car packed in a canvas bag. I can grab it at anytime if need be. I have always kept a first aid kit in car because of hubby being on blood thinners. It only takes a small scratch for him to bleed all over everything and the fact that it came in handy when I was in mall parking lot an this little girl's young brother shut the car door and it got her in top of her head and gashed it open. Blood everywhere. So I got my first aid kit and got bleeding stopped somewhat and got both kids calmed down. She did have to go to ER for stitches though. It was a good gap. You never know when you might need the things you carry.

I read the original post, but did not read all of the others, so maybe this was mentioned before. It sounds like this person might be an EMT. I see people with belt holsters. From the look they would appear to be knives; multi-tools; or cell phones. I seldom see belt pouches or maybe fanny packs. The contents of this one (Post #1) seem to be geared toward first aid. Bottom line, this seems to be a lot of gear to be carrying on your person, all of the time.

I carry a wallet with much the same contents. I wear a lanyard with ID when I am at work, but seldom anywhere else. I would not feel comfortable keeping a flash drive with all of that personal information on a lanyard. Stored separately, O.K., but I would want it more secure. I have a phone, and eyeglasses. My key ring is similar; but I carry a lighter separately. A pry tool on a key ring? Other things I carry on me, all of the time are a pocket knife, handkerchief, and chap stick.

I do keep all of the other gear in an EDC sling pack, or in my car, so it is with me for emergencies, but not on me all of the time.

This is a great old post. Anything in the list in post #1 and others follow that anyone has not thought of?

www.lapolicegear.com will send you a nice 5.11 catalog. The pants I was talking about are called 5.11 Tactical Pants, they also have a dressier style called the Covert Khaki which look similar to Dockers.

I got some ugly Brown color (Dark Brown) that they were discontinuing for like $15 a pair in the Tactical Pants. I wear these outdoors and with the internal knee pads, they are great 'chore' pants. Keep an eye on the closeouts page. Sometimes those boots go on sale for $40 as well...

    ZA,
Great stuff, I will look into their clothing. I am real big and tall so I tend to find clothing in shops that cater to my size. Thanks for the tip though, there are certainly some large police out in the world!

    Howdy das,

I carry the keys on my belt loop via the carbriner so it keeps the outside. I have 3 sets of keys, so this gear is spread through them. My kubaton is on my work truck keys which is just the keys and it so I can use it as intended...

For dressier bdu's, you ever hear tell of 5.11 gear??? They market it to law enforcement folks but work reallly well for folks that need to carry their gear. Very comfortable and well made. I have several pairs of the pants, their shorts are the only ones I wear, the vest can carry alot of weight and still be comfortable, and I have been trying the boots and they are nice. Dunno their durability yet as I have only had them a few weeks, but if it is anything like the rest of their gear, they will be fine. Look up their offerings @ www.lapolicegear.com

RS, yeah don't figure I could even get close to an airport with that stuff. I used to love to fly, but would rather walk than fly... been seriously considering getting my pilot's license on of these days...

I fly too much. Most of the stuff you have would be confiscated by the KGB....I mean the TSA. If you ever question whether or not America is becoming a police state, hop on a flight sometime.

You have to carry government issued ID papers, and government issued papers that give you permission to fly, and you have to abandon your right to illegal search and seizure. Their answer? Flying is not a right, it is a privelege.

We do not have freedom of travel, except on foot. Any other way requires some sort of government permission.
