  • how many uses for paracord ?

I thought this might be fun (and hopefully helpful). Let's everybody name one use for paracord that you think is pretty unique, or that you've done before, or that you heard somewhere and thought "huh, that's great, I'd never thought of that".

You get to show off your knowledge and ingenuity and everybody else gets some new and useful info. If the participation is high enough, I'll do a new item every couple of weeks.

Be as detailed as you please.

8 1/2 inches so maybe 9" would be about right. But, you are going to get a box of goodies back. Hope you like oilfield stuff.

Made a collar for my boxer...now making a 7' leash...all cobra. I'll also be making straps that I'll attach to my new packs (if they ever get here) that will have several "D" rings incorporated along the weave. The straps will be fed thru the unused molle webs around the exterior of the pack, and the D rings can be used as attachment points for whatever.
I'm really just trying to make sure that I paracord if I ever need it, and make use of it as a braid anywhere that I can. Also making braided bow a stern grab handles out of it for my kayaks.
                          Rifle slings.
                          Shoulder straps for my BOBs.
                          Suspenders.
                          Belts.
Picture a braided rig shaped like this "#" with spring clips at all 8 tails (longer tails than the illustration), and the center square just large enough to fit over your head. Slip it over your head and carry 10 jugs of water (the other 2 are in your hands) from the spring/stream/river/well. It would drape over your pack and hook on to it...out of the way when not in use. Another use for this would be as a harness for draging...2 straps to attach as suspenders...4 straps to hook a rope or other paracord to for dragging. Could also be used as a seat hanging from a tree limb, or a harness to hang food in/on in bear country, a sling for an injured arm, keeping a leg eleveted...ect...ect.
