Burpee brand, on sale at Kmart at 40% off.

I've been meaning to make a garden for years, never got around to it, but this year I feel I may have to in order to feed the family, so I picked up some vegetables that I know my picky family will eat: tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, green beans, carrots, broccoli, peppers and onions.

I happened to pick up a little greenhouse at a store going out of business, it's a thick vinyl covered rack thingee. Only cost $7. So I can get my vegetable garden started even sooner.

We already planned on moving our 6' stockade fence closer to the road to expand the backyard, so I'll have a great place for my new garden, full sun most of the day in summer.

Santa even brought me a digital camera for Christmas, so I will certainly be recording my gardening attempt for your entertainment. :p

Thanks for the heads-up....are those Burpee seeds heirloom seeds?

Many of Burpee seeds are NOT heirloom. You really need to watch what you buy. Try Winchester Gardens for heirlooms. They carry several types, and you can get them in bulk. Prices are good, shipping cheap, and service good as well. http://www.winchestergarden.com/

            Thanks voodoo; as I suspected!

I have a couple sources already, thank you for the tip, my fiance manages an organic gardening business and she buys a few packets a week to add to our stockpiles...

Start saving your coffee grounds. They are good to put around any high-acid fruit. I have heard shops like Starbucks will save them for you.

They will and acutally pack it into a very large sealed container right by the door for you to tote out, no questions asked. I made it a habit to go by the local one daily after work to pic up extra grounds.

Hey Omega, where did you get the canning supplies???? I've been looking but they seem to be seasonal and I haven't been able to find them around my area
