What do you folks like? Do you ever use improvised methods?

Insulated water bottles, mugs, cups, tumblers, food containers and steel straws. High-quality, durable, reusable stainless steel solutions since 2002.

I like these a lot- they work well if you have to boil water...

For inprovised, I like the bladders that come in Tim Horton's boxes of coffee...

Those look cool. Never seen 'em before.
I have a standard GI canteen and also have a bota bag.
It's similar looking to this one.

We use camel bladders, or Army issued, we also really like the platypuss bottles. The roll up when not using for less space. We also always carry naglene bottles, even the little ones.. All our packs have an area for a water bladder..

Yeah...gotta say Nalgenes too....but hikes of any real lenth usually end up with the camel packs.

We generally have 3 to 4 nalgenes in the fridge...

Does "slip my canteens into the wife's pack when she isn't looking" count?

I have a Nalgene, BPA free, that fits in a GI carrier. The one I really want is below.

I have been trying for a few years to buy two of these canteens. Every six months or so I send off an e-mail. In the past I never received a response. To my surprise I received a response on my current attempt. I was told they are currently out of stock and the next production run will be late June - early July. I will keep everyone posted.
