Solar Oven

I apologize ahead of time if this has been covered before. I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Has anyone cooked with a solar oven before? What did you cook and how did it turn out? Was it a store bought oven or did you make it yourself?

I would like to get one but they are so darned expensive.

They aren't hard to make....we did one as a Scout project....cardboard and aluminum foil....it worked....a bit cloudy on the day we tried it....but it cooked smoked sausage and peppers with onions.....took a while...but it worked.

I've been tempted. Wendy Dewitt shows one in her videos, but you are correct, it's spendy.

I've tried it a couple times with good results. but Texas in July you can bake bread just by leaving it on your car dash.

Same here in Arizona. The interior of our trucks can easily reach 120+ degrees on a nice hot summer day.
