  • Pass the Cheese please!!!!

I have a bunch of the Red Feather canned cheese stored away for the rainy day. It's not bad... But not great either. It kind of has a bland flavor and doesn't really melt the way I would like it to... But in a world with no cheese... any cheese is great cheese, right?
Last night I found and ate This!!!!
Most of you have probably been using it for years, and think I'm an idiot for posting this. (Most people think I'm an idiot anyway ) but this can of cheesey goodness is a new and much needed find for me!!! At first I thought it was soup. Wrong! It's cheese! Just like the can says!!!
And it's GOOD!!!! I used it last night over broccoli, but would be great for Mac and cheese... over chips.... over baked potatos.... Anywhere a liquid (like the nacho cheese at TacoBell) type cheese could be needed.
I also toasted some bread and dipped it like a fondu right out of the can (Had to wait for my wife to leave the kitchen before I tried this, to avoid the "look").... It was awesome!

    Just thought I'd share.

We like it over broccoli as well. I will probably stock some now, too, since I've got my main stores laid in. It's kind of spendy.

Preaching to the choir.... I don't buy anything with out a coupon, BOGO, or store special.
I've just come to realize, that I can't live without cheese.:o:o

I can wipe with barbed wire, I can comb with axle grease, I can do without electricity, but when TSHTF... I'll die without cheese! I put it on everything. Thanks for the TIP. Stocking up now!

This is the kind of thing I talked about in another post.

This cheese soup is something I've used literally for years - is second nature to me, so I never thought to mention it. This is the value of a place like this.

              Slowz1k! Thank you!

Just goes to show you that preping is an ever evolving thing. You never know when your going to forget something you can't live without till someone has it.

As of 6:30 last night, my pantry has been cheesified!!!! Food Lion has it on sale 5 cans for $5. Not a huge savings but, .50 off per can will add up quick!

Best by date is 2013.... I'm guessing 5 to 6 years in cool storage

A buck a can is cheaper than the commissary, you got a great deal.

I never thought of cheese! Great find thanks!

Thanks! I'm with you about cheese. It just makes about any food taste better.

After reading your post I went to China Mart and bought some. Best date they had was Dec 2011. :(
