As we have all read above, there are both good and bad about Raman. I do store some, 4 will fit in a gallon Mylar bag and an oxygen absorber will reduce the chance of bugs and somewhat extend it's shelf life.
You don't have to use the 2 cups of water called for to boil them. Break them up in quarters and use just one cup. You will have to stir and it many take 4 min instead of 3 to get them all evenly cooked.
The packets have enough seasoning (salt) for one/half of a chicken.

ketchup add sliced or diced jalapeno's. or Chipolte. salt, pepper and a touch of cumin. bring to a boil with ramen noodels, then lower heat to simmer, add in precooked shrimp and simmer for another five to ten minutes. a touch of fresh cilantro and you have a meal.

1. As is
2. No packet. Add peanuts and soy packet.
3. No packet. Add veggies, single serving Spam and packet of BBQ sauce.
4. No packet. Add veggies, packet of tuna and 2 packets of mayo.
5. No Packet. Add veggies, packet of chicken and 2 packets of hot sauce.
6. No packet. Add veggies and peanut oil. Fry in pan.
7. No packet. Add ketchup, grated cheese packet and crushed red pepper packet.
Seven days of Raman based meals. You can mix and match to your taste. All seven of the meals will fit into two 1 gallon ziplock bags. Most of the additives can be picked up at fast food places with a fork, knife and spoon for free.
When I first started prepping I had no money and this is what I started with and I have eaten them all. I still take them along for day hikes. I now have more extensive preps but I still have the Raman in my food storage.

The problem with critters in stored food is not so much the Tcky factor as it is the fact that they will EAT what you have stored. Not today, but what if you open a 3 year old bucket cache and find a bunch of Ramen wrappers filled with weevil turds? I had that happen with stored jerkey once....

The cons are it's bulky, the packaging ruptures easily under ANY stress, it requires more water to weight than other options, and you can't cook it in the package. For what it's worth you can store a pound of regular pasta with 2 bullion cubes, in 1/10th the space for only twice the money compared to a pound of Ramen.
