Kind of gimmicky but I've loved the outcome everytime I've used the Sedona Trading Co. "Seasoning Capsules."
I've used them on meat, fish, chicken, veggies, pasta, and taters. Most "packaged store meals" and "packaged backpacking foods" are bland. These little capsules of love (flavor) really make a big difference on trips in the backcountry! Whether I drop'em in boiling water, pull'em apart to mix in pasta/taters or as a dry rub on meats, good is good. They make hauling spices way easier and make my meals for one or two really pop!
They are small, light, convienent, and work great. Everything I'm looking for in BOB gear. Bit of a luxury item but may help big time in getting me or loved ones to choke down wild meats, plants, insects etc. Please keep in mind that this is coming from a man that considers The Food Network as porn.:D
