Hello,
I'm new here, but been lurking for a while.
If this information has been shared already, I do apologize for the re-post.
I work with a lady who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (This is NOT a plug for the Church, so put away the pitchforks and extinguish the torches) I was mentioning one day about my emergency provisions, when she made me aware of the fact that the Mormon Church encourages and often facilitates long term food storage.
Anyway... The following website has a ton of info on food storage and emergency preparedness.
The lady that I work with has also invited myself and a few other like minded collegues, as guests, to their canning facility, where we will purchase dry goods and can them ourselves.
If you are a member of this Church or know anyone who is, it would be well worth the time investment to take advantage of these services.
Chris
