If only it was nice enough to actually START gardening! It's still rather cold out.
Going to plant 3 fruit trees- dwarf apple, dwarf pear, dwarf 'fruit cocktail' tree (apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums) Those will be planted near my vegetable garden, which I've decided to move a bit in the yard to take advantage of full sun. Planned a place for my compost heap.
I'll also be purchasing a dwarf orange tree and a dwarf lemon tree. These are potted, but they'll be nice on my sunny front porch during warm weather, and can live in my livingroom during cold months.
I might do some strawberries in containers on the back deck.
Hubby is really balking at the idea of raising chickens, but I've kind of scoped out a place for them when I've changed his mind for him. ;)
Veggies, I've decided on corn, cauliflower, spinach, green beans, peppers, carrots, broccoli, tomatos, cucumbers, onions and potatos. I'll get the seedlings started in the house, then move them to a little plastic greenhouse, then get them in the ground in May.
I don't expect anything to be able to be done around here until late April, but I'll take plenty of pictures then.
I'm hoping to dehydrate and can a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies, then next year go bigger and better and add some berry bushes.
