  • My Weekend Project

I ordered 79 packets of hierloom seeds that should be delivered today. Now I have to make places to plant 'em! These raised beds should be great for herbs, radishes, etc.
Stopped by Lowes on the way home yesterday and picked up a few 2x10s. Here what I got done so far on raised planting beds. Raining right now, but hope to get them positioned in the yard and filled with topsoil within a few hours. I'll probably build at least four more of the 4'x8' boxes. Can also use them as a cold frame if I build tops.

Thanks. I always do everything better than is has to be. Got that from my late father. Perfectionist about certain things and a dang pig about others! :o

OK....finished before lunch. Maybe I'll build a room on the house before dark? :D

This looks like a good place for 'em........

Like my shovel? It doubles as a wheel barrow too!

Well.....look who shows up as soon as I start tilling the soil.

This is back breaking work! Climbing in and out of the seat to take pics that is........

All done except for the planting.

Well thank you sir. Means a lot coming from you! :) If I can find an onion sack or something like that, I think I'll go soak your nuts. I think I mentioned that I read where they need to be in running water. I'm not going to soak all of them at one time 'cause the koons may find 'em and help themselves. Not much worse than having a roving band of koons chewing on your nuts, I always say.:D

                  Phase II

Made (3) more and even planted snow peas in two of them.

Thanks Guy! I glanced at the site and saved it to my favorites. I'll look at it before I do anything else. I trying to plan out a shopping run on Sam's this week. Garden will have to wait until next week.
