  • Food Storage Planner Software?

Is anybody else using the Food Storage Planner Software on here? I bought it a couple of months ago and have started using it to keep track of my stores of food and other "needed items". It seems to be pretty handy even if it duplicates some items, but I haven't tried to tweak it yet and wonder if somebody else out there has any suggestions, or help on how to get the best out of it. ;)

Nope, never heard of it. Where did you get it?

I've heard of it, and it seems handy, but my thought is that a SHTF scenario would probably be predicated by the loss of electricity, hence computers....so I've just opted for the old fashioned paper audit....I hang a clipboard on the door to my storeroom with a list of items, quantities, and rotation schedules....guess it's the logistician in me.....;)

I go to the cupboard, where I keep all my stuff seperated by what it is. ANd when I have an empty hole, I buy more, slide the older stock foreward and put the new can in the rear. Nothing keeps my inventory better then the mind of Rusty Shakelford.

Yeah, but does your wife know the accurate count, too? A posted inventory keeps us all in the know.....ya know?

I think the LDS church makes it. I found it at some of the Prep sites. It comes up with some things I hadn't been thinking about. like socks and other clothing items for the long haul. It lets you print out a shopping list and schedule the purchasing. Plus, for those of us who cant remember the details, it tracks what you are using and tells you when to replace. I have it backed up to my laptop for which I could set up a solar power rig to use. (Unless there is an EMP event) in which case I'll use Rusty's system. LOL
