show your garden

My garden area has not been decided yet, as I live in an area that does not allow for much space to grow a garden. I have, however, planted some seeds under a grow light on my fireplace hearth waiting to spring to come where I can transplant them outside, somewhere.
I planted radishes, sweet green bell peppers, 2 corn stalks, and a brocolli seed. The radishes have sprouted and begun separation, 1 pepper sprout has emerged, but just planted the others today.

Yo have fun with that. West Texas and myself will be at the Midland Gun show, walking around buying good stuff and drinking coffee. Have fun with that machette.

Sounds like ya'll are going to have a good day. I can't wait for the show In Greenville, SC on the 7th. Hope to have a local meet and greet at the same time.

I'll be wearing my new gloves over my machinist gloves...it's cold!

Almost daylight...19* and dropping but I'm headin' out to work on the garden spot. Got brush and small trees to remove. It's gonna be chilly..........

Here is our garden, Last year Januar 08 I was a little angry and needed to outlet and I have been prepareing for a while. This was the first garden I have ever done and it went crazy, the dirt here is all clay loaded with rock. I hand dug this with a pick and a shovel and pulled out about 80' of rock I will upload a pic of that next time.

Note: ln the last year I have learned a lot about grardening and farming and am trying to tie it into my renewable business. I, well my wife has about 700 seedlings going and she has managed to start selling seedlings to people in this area. This is easy to do and for those who are hurting for money, start to grow your own food and help others and pay for your food at the same time. I look at it like the victory garden on stereroids I call it "VICTORY LIVING" I know its corny "on the cob not the can" but it makes sense to me.

I already posted this in Rusty's thread before I saw this one. We actually had to use a ladder to pick tomatoes that year.

We are going to start early this year and expand some more.

I plan to ''brag'' a little ,real soon.We had a spot 40'x100' last year.This year I'll stretch that about 50' in length and add 2 more spots 10'x50'.Me and mom ''put up'' 17 cases(quarts) of green beans last year.You can learn alot from a mother!!

This will be the garden. We'll be moving the 6' stockade fence up to the pink line, and adding 6' stockade all along the yard border. Most of the yard is done, just along that neighbor's fence line has to be done. And getting rid of the trailer that's sitting there.

The area's about 20'x40'. It's on the south side of the house, during late spring/summer, the whole area gets sunlight all day (10am-7pm)

no garden this year and I miss it

I'm moving so I didnt start one here. Hope to get in a place up in the mountains soon as possible, so I can start amending the soil and tilling for a small garden plot. Might have to cheat this year and just preserve some surplus from the farmer's market or barter some weeding at a neighbor's garden for some produce. Came close to making a transportable compost pile and taking it with me, but then I thought that might be a little far fetched, lol... :rolleyes::D
