RN for 30years, experience in er and or. Retired military, 28years. Last 10 of military on a forward surgical team, deployed to Afghanistan a few times with SF units. Many certifications and combat medic badge. My advice is to practice, practice and read. Learn to suture wounds, there are ways to practice and not use up your supplies.

Go to u-tube and search suture technique lots of good ones come up. Great way to practice is to start with heavy sewing thread to learn the tying technique. You can also use a straight needle for skin suturing many older doctors used straight needles for this. Ethicon a Johnson and Johnson company has a great book on suturing. May be able to find it online.
