Yes!!! Superglue is a great wound sealer. My great neice busted open her little head and we glued it back together. The hospital was just too far to get to in a good time. Later we took her to the dr. and he laughed and said, that is Perfect. It has healed with very little scaring. Good stuff. Stings a little I understand at first but worth considering.

Thanks for the reminder. I had a friend whose wife was a nurse, and they always kept it on hand at their house.

I've never been able to use super glue more than once or twice. Always seems to be rock solid after one use. Yes, I THINK I'm sealing it tightly.

Will have to buy 10 tubes of the stuff, hope it's still a buck.

I hate it in my first aid kit too! But, like SkyOwl's Wife, I can't use it more than once or twice before it's too hard. I've tried everything to prevent it from happening. I may go check out fingernail glue (used to hold fake nails on)...it comes in small tubes and may be cheaper.

i have had the same problem with getting only one or two uses out of a tube before it is worthless. so i have switched to the time one time use tubes. comes in a pack of three or more. also i use more of the gel type glue than the watery stuff seems to work better and dry time is a little slower giving you time to work. when i use this for cuts on the hand sometimes i will sweat and the glue comes loose around the edges and will snag on clothing making the cut even worse when it tears off. but other than that its great stuff. i use it for all kinds of stuff including in saltwater aquarium applications as it is reef safe.

Well the glue used for fake fingernails is same type just slower drying. There is one BIG advantage with using nail glue however. That being it has anti-fungal/bacterial stuff in it.

Enlighten me, oh great one! :D

This highlights something else. If you are the one bleeding, does your spouse/SO know where to find the stuff?

I feel the need to elaborate here....super glue should not replace your suture kit....and if it is used to close a wound where stitches are indicated, a suture should be applied as soon as possible....

Also...super glue should NEVER be used on a wound where direct arterial or veinous flow can come into contact with the chemical.....if the compound should enter the circulatory system, a thrombus (clot/blockage) is possible and even probable....

amozon has Uro-bond 111 5000 silicone skin adhesive 3 oz. for 37.99 It is the glue that is used in hospitals. There are other sites as well. just google where to buy skin glue and it will take you to a lot of sites for it. it would be better than super glue.
