There is no real comparison but ill ask any way...
Compared to your 45. How does she group, and do you have the same speed and precision that you do with your 45.

It is not as accurate or as fast. Once one gets very proficient with a 1911 they can acually out shoot a Hi-Power. The trigger pull is much longer. It is still more than adequate for self defense purposes when loaded with 15 rounds of Winchester Ranger 127 grain +P+. I would not recommend a steady diet of these in a Hi-Power as they will cause premature wear. For practice loads in this and my Colt I use lead bullet reloads.

I've owned my highpowers for a long time. My only issue is the friction generated by the magazine disconnect link. This safety has never made much sense to me.

Ah .... much mo betta. Over the years I have disassembled and polished parts and pieces to no avail, the face of the safety link is a mirror finish. Of course as long as the "mating" surface (magazine) is rough there will still be resistance. Now that it's gone .... mo betta. Thanks again BB.

I don't remember the last good night's sleep. Yes this thing is MUCH smoother. Prior to, I had a tendancy to roll off center during firing .... I know, practice, practice and more practice. I can't afford to be a shooter anymore so draw and dryfire is it. I see and feel a significant improvement.

Stitch, you may want to consider removing your magazine safety link.

Beautiful piece of hardware you have there Stitch.

I remember as a young boy, my father had a Browning High-Power... He loved that pistol even though that hammer would bite him in the thumb webbing almost every outing.(old style hammer) No telling how many pints of blood he lost due to that Browning. Good times... good times.

The rounded hammer has bitten me less than the post 1972 spur type. Almost everyone I know that has shot a hipower or 1911 without a beaver tail has the same scar. Mine has the mag disconnect safety removed.
