  • Match trigger suggestions

OK, so my Dad gave me a stripped AR lower for Christmas and I have already started my build. I have decided that I am building a precision match type AR. I want to put a single stage match trigger in and doing the research that I do, it seems that a J P Enterprises trigger is about the best. Wanted to see if anyone had other suggestions or experience with the J P.

I have already put together an awesome(in my opinion) upper with a 20" match bull barrel. Other than the trigger, the butt stock is the only other peice that I am still lacking and thats just because spending $200+ on a stock is a bit painful. I might just use a simple 6 position that I have extra for now. And sights too, but that can come later.

I have used most of the Match triggers out there, and competed in NRA High Power with many of them.
Cost wise the Rock River National Match is very good, although I have broken one.
The most rugged and reliable AR Match trigger available is from Geissele

Thanks, since the original post I have completed that lower with a RRNM and started a second that I will install my new 458 SOCOM upper on. I have also started a 3rd with a Jewel single stage. We'll see how they work.

Be careful with the Jewell trigger. I shot one for years in competition. Pull wise they
are great, but I would never use one again. On their two-stage match triggers they
would go out of adjustment after about the first 200 rounds. Suddenly you would just
lose your first stage, so when you took up slack on what you thought was the first stage
the gun went off. Then it would do it again about every 2000 rounds. Really sucked
to lose your first stage on the 600 yard line in the middle of a match. I have not tried a
single stage from them though, so good luck.

I had one of these from Brownells in a rifle I owned for about a year or so....it functioned well...just didn't feel sturdy like a factory.

Do some reading.....you can do a trigger job on a factory trigger....that will suffice for most purposes....save competition.

Want it to hurt a little more to where you'll ENJOY the PAIN? Try one of these stocks... GOOGLE the SSAR-15 by Slidefire Solutions

              Hey Grunt,
I've seen them on Ebay and at the last gun show there was a guy selling them for $350. That's just a bit more than I want to pay for a pound of plastic... Maybe someday if they come down in price.

True, but there are other attachments that do sort of a similar trick that cost much less...
I picked up a Jard single stage today that feels real nice in the lower.

What about a Wilson Combat trigger drop in? Just saying.
