Looks similar in a lot of ways to disassembling an SKS.

I will cover putting a recoil buffer into an AK-47 when I get a free moment to post again. Costs $15.00 from Tapco, and is, in my opinion, a manditory piece of equipment for an AK-47.

Next, flip the lever by the rear site. This will allow you to remove the gas tube. You can flip it too far, and then you can't get the tube out. No problem, just push it back a little.

    You are now finished.

Step 3. Push the spring foreward, and it will slide out. Again....very easy.

Step 4 is to remove the bolt carrier. It just slides out without the spring holding it. Very simple

    Breaking down the AK-47

The following photos show how to properly break down an AK-47. THis is the Saiga version, but all are the same.

Photo number 1. Remove the scope off the side mount. (If yours is equipt like mine)

Step 2 is to Remove the dust cover. Simply push the button on the rear of the receiver and lift off the dust cover. Easy as pie.
