  • Gun Broker

I am a little lost about how you purchase from sites like gunbroker.com. Do you have to have a FFL, or can you make arrangments with your local gun shop? If you do arrange something with a gun shop, what do they charge for this service?

You must have an FFL or have the gun shipped to somebody that has, such as a gun shop. Most dealers charge $25-30 for this service.

Unless you hold a C&R license. That is easy to get.

C&R is good, as long as you don't try to sell the stuff you get at a profit....the ATF will get pissed.....

Isn't the C&R only for firearms 50+ years old?

I am not sure what qualifies, but they will list it as C&R. Some SKS's are on the list. I am unsure what they use as qualifications for C&R eligible.

Any firearm 50 years old or older, from the current date, is C&R eligible. Just looked it up. You need to order the form from the ATF. Costs $30 for the license.

So you would not be able to buy a new handgun with the C&R?

I think you also need a letter from a local Sheriff or Chief of Police stating you are a citizen in good standing.

I find that to be a bunch of BS. Some anti-gun Sheriff or PC could nix you because they believe nobody but the government should own firearms.

New as long as it was made prior to 1959.

                          I own a coupla pristine Revolution-era muskets......powder horns, rods...whole setup...they're in a "safe place."

Waiting for the day I might need to trade 'em for something uber-valuable.
