Does your 870 have a bead, rifle or ghost ring sights and why did you choose that set of sights. I have never used rifle sights on a shotgun but that would be my choice due to my familiarity with a standard rifle. What's your opinion?Originally posted by Skyowl View PostOkay, I'll bite...

Here are some links to help you out:
NOTE:
Some newer Rem 870s have incorporated dimples on the end of the mag tube to prevent the addition of a mag extension (870 HD). Once you remove the barrel on the 870 you can see if it has these dimples. These dimples can be removed (drill/dremel). Watch out for state laws where applicable.
CAUTION:
Please make sure that mag extention does NOT exceed length barrel length.

Since the 12 GA is a defense rather than hunting weapon, rifle sights were not required.Last edited by Skyowl; 10-15-2010, 08:02 AM.As Zombie Axe would say...

Nice choice, benellis are the cadillac of shotguns. What is the desired application of your choice? As far as shotguns I picked up a 870 and a few 'off-brand' ones. Wife won't let me buy a benelli yet...lol. I but a 8 shot extension on mine as well. Can't remember what the price was. I also put a recoil-reducing blackhawk telescoping stock and foregrip. I was surprised how much recoil it actually killed keeping me on target for any follow up shots in half the time. I think that stock kit was 125 bucks or so but worth it. Personally I would like to throw on some ghost ring sights down the road for more acurate shots for 'slugs'.

This Benelli would be my SHTF gun. Slugs for big game, buckshot for defense and birdshot for birds of course.Originally posted by mrlsignalman View PostNice choice, benellis are the cadillac of shotguns.
