I tell ya what, as cheap as 7.62x39 is, I'm considering buying one myself, just to **** around with & get a little more shooting time in. And of course, it does make a handy, super-reliable lethal weapon for the under 300m range stuff. Seemed to work pretty well for the Taliban. I was thinking of going with an old school Romanian one myself. For 400 bucks, I don't see how you can go wrong. Anyway, that's a nice lookin rifle, man. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

Nice looking AK. What did it set you back? I just picked one up myself. My is a yugo. It's the higher end type. Hit me for $575, but I am well pleased. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson

That is high. I thought mine was expensive. Does it have the milled receiver or stamped. Mine is stamped but it is the 1.5mm as opposed to the 1mm used in the Romanian models. Mine is the milled, The going rate on these are are around 1800.00. The guy i got it from had a sales slip, he paid 1550.00 2 years ago. The only reason i could afford this is i sold all the tacticool crap off my ar 15. Im going back to the basics on it. Wow, a milled receiver, now that's cool and definitly explains the price. Yes, I have ran just a few round through it but not much. What few I shot I was impressed with it's accuracy. I also have a Romanian AK in 223. I really like it as well. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson

Hey Neverknow
Nice firearm you have there, recommend you utilize Corbon DPX ammunition for your SHTF stash of ammo for it. Other than the underfolding stock you have a real winner there. Looks alot like my SLR-95. Enjoy.Last edited by Bayou Blaster; 08-18-2010, 06:48 PM.
