  • Beretta 45 caliber "NATO" assault rifle

Does anyone have any information on this weapon? I just looked at one, composite stock, like new, with case, accessories and 1000 rounds for $800... Is this a worthwhile purchase?

I googled it and it kind of looks like the nerf toy I bought my son. Beretta is a very good name and they make a wide variety of reliable shotguns. With a shotgun you could also hunt with it.
I personally would not like my rifle in that caliber, I understand some people like to just carry one type of amunition to feed both pistol and rifle but it also has limitations. Ask your friend if you can try it out first and see how it shots then determine the future task it must perform. Just my thoughts.

1000 rounds of SA is going for 325
1000 rounds of WWB is going for 400
So shooting for the middle ground, your looking at 425 or so for the rifle.

Problem is Beretta is not exactly known for their metallurgy. In the XM9 trials, they never fixed their metallurgical problems, they just put a block in it to keep the slide from launching into a soldiers head.
Beretta works fine and dandy with anything <= nato spec, but when I purchase a pistol caliber carbine, I expect it to take SMG +P+ with no problem, lI.E. MP5, UZI, etc, those can in fact take it.

I would not trust that rifle to take SMG ammo.
Therefore, if you make this purchase, consider it this way.
Consider it for 1K of ammo with the intent of dumping the rifle. The more you can get for the rifle, the less you paid for the ammo.

I've seen several vids on Youtube of the CX4 Storm and I believe that is the firearm your speaking of, it has a molded polymer space-age look to it. They retail new for about $880 dollars. It seems to be a well thought-out firearm, has Picatinny rails. It takes Beratta magazines, low recoil. Probably good out to 125 yards. Hope that helps
