  • ammo in stock

Stopped by the local Bass Pro this evening and they actually had ammo on the shelves. Even some bulk packs of Remington UMC .45 acp and .223. Most ammo I have seen on the shelves for months. Hope it is a sign of things to come.

Hey fireman, I shop the same basspro, and when I can't find what I need at the store, I order it from thier website , they have a good selection and most is in stock. You will pay shipping , but no sales tax, so it works out about the same , and depending on how much you order it can be cheaper.

The best deal on 5.56 is at Cabelas right now. Federal XM193, 900 rds in 10 rd stripper clips for $549.99 and they are currently running a shipping rate special of just $5. That is cheaper than it is anywhere.

I don't own an ammo company so when I say "BUY IT!" you can be sure I won't make a dime off the deal. Buy while you can, things aint gonna get better for a long time.

Kenno hit the nail square, prices are not ever going to come down, not by much, especially on 5.56/.223
There are many reasons, first and foremost being the militaries increased appetite, then the fact that since 9/11, nearly every law enforcement agency/office in the country that did not already have ARs does now or is in the process of obtaining them, and their demand for 5.56 is ferocious (semi-annual training & certification plus patrol load)(on a tangent, there are a lot of LE organizations that has become 100% para-military and they eat ammo just like an AC unit). Although the bulk of ARs flooding the Mexican market do not originate in the US, much of the ammo does. American citizens are paid well to make small ammo purchases over and over that are then sent south (I did not realize this until I attended a recent AT conference).
If you do not re-load, I would strongly encouraging you to take it up, or at least posses the KSA and equipment to do it when necessary. Do not complain about ammo prices, just buy it.

This just in from The Armory...

            223 Remington (5.56x45mm) 62 gr FMJSCBT M855 PPU Ammo Case (1000 rds)
$419.99 + shipping. To Az that was $30 bringing the total order to $450.09

That is $140 off the normal price. Ordered a case yesterday morning.

If this is what you need, better try...

jgsales.com has 5.56 US Military contractor 55gr FMJ 1000 round case for $379.90+ shipping, don't know anything about the quaility of it , but thought I'd pass it on to those who do. They also have 7.62x39 at a good price IMO.If anyone has an opinion on this ammo ,if you would share it , I'm considering the 7.62x39 for my own use,but would like some feed back if there is any to be had .

This is a very good deal. Had not seen this site before... Do not really like how they put 223 Remington & 5.56x45 in the same sentence... slightly different... you can shoot 223 through a 5.56 chamber all day, but not the other way around. Just know what your AR is chambered for.

Honestly, this looks like some of that cheap ammo from China that Florida contractor was busted sending to our folks in AFG. The add says 5.56, but the box says .223...???

                    I got lucky with a 5.56 find!

One evening someone here had a Craig's list posting for over 12,000 rounds of 5.56 for 25 Cents each. I contacted them and asked for smaller lots. Ended up buying 400 rounds of 5.56 (Israeli mfg) + 38 special and some 380 all off of Craig's list! Yea, I know that is a Craig's list no - no. I have been posting for others to list their firearms related items on Craig's list @ 10:00 in the evening. That works since the posts usually last 15 - 30 minutes before they are kicked off. You might try that in your area.

Oh yea, an opinion poll: How much ammo do we need?

One of those questions... How much of anything do you really need??? How much food, water, fuel, magazines, spare parts, batteries... the list just does not end. Is enough ever really enough? How much tp should I have?!
Personally, I do not think you can have 'too much' ammo or 'too much' toilet paper- both will save your ass (pun is intended)!

I would start a new thread and not highjack this one.
