Be sure you check with LE in your state. Most have a minimum of 18in barrels to be legal. IIRC you meed a permit for anything less.

Try here for a complete gun with 18in barrel:

    or here http://www.remingtonoutlet.com/items...mp_Action.aspx
    As Zombie Axe would say...
"Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty."

I don't think you'll be able to get any barrel legal under 18 inches. Here's something out of the National Firearms Act of 1934 which is federal law in effect in all states including yours.

Short barreled shotguns (SBSs) - this category is defined similarly to SBRs, but the length limit for the barrel is 18" instead of 16", and the barrel must be a smoothbore. The minimum overall length limit remains 26".

Hope this helps. You could always pay for a Tax Stamp and get a class 3 license for AOW...

He is correct. You can own a shorter weapon, but it is expensive and usually a PIA. Heck, my neighbor in Idaho owns an M60, the full blown real deal. He is not any type of firearms dealer or LEO, just a regular citizen. All you have to do is purchase a "transferable" weapon, pay a $250 transfer fee and weight about 6 months for the ATF to do the paperwork and background checks.

I have been looking for a M60 or MA Duece for several years now. M60's are pretty easy, but the average price is around $8,000 and I don't want to go more than $6,000. I would pay $10,000 for the MA Duece, but I am dreaming if I think I will get one at that price. I settled and built the AK Gatling Gun, with the commercialy available conversion kit. A little creativity and some parts from a power screwdriver can really improve the design, over stock.

You MUST buy it through a Class III dealer as it MUST be serial numbered for registration through the ATF.

Not all states will let citizens own class 3 firearrms. so don't just check the fed laws check the state laws and some states let the county ok the possession of class 3 guns. now with that said frist talk to a lawyer first. That i am not. now to the business of actually getting the barrell. I will do a little research and get back to you.

you could always just keep a hacksaw handy for when the day comes you can give it the chop. if the SHTF and law goes down the drain Im pretty sure no one will care and you dont need to worry about all the paper work. plus if you like to shoot skeet and hunt with your gauge a shorter barrel is useless.
