I have complete high frequency lose in both ears; I left it all on a hill called Tinajitas in Dec of 89. It does not come back; protect what you have while you still have it. It only netted me 10% disability when I retired, but I do get free hearing aids from the VA, not that I use them, just ask my wife.:D
Confirmation on the high-pitched ringing.....this is true and proven.

Man, I had almost forgotten the ringing part. I've had that so long I'd gotten used to it. Now that you all mention it, I can hear it again!

        Front row, Def Leppard.
        Front row, balcony right, Rush.
Both within a couple of months.
Plus 8 years working in commercial broadcast radio,
        wearing headphones all the time...
        Hearings never been the same.
If it looks ignernt, but it works, then it ain't ignernt.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

I had to put down a horse last November. I was so upset,
that I forgot to put on ear protection. Yeah, real life isn't
              like the movies.

I fired 2 rounds and my ears seemed to ring for hours.

I wasnt so lucky after putting 25 rds through a 12g sighting it in at a friends house I have permanent loss in my right ear and a defening ring when the room is silent, but that was when I was young and stupid and you never think youll live this long at that age, but you do.
