Ooohh....you listen to Gersham, too.....sweet....and I totally agree.....

I've already been buying up Glock mags, AK mags, AR mags, 10/22 mags and Mini 14 mags. I dont know how accurate of a comparison this might be, but a 13 dollar Glock mag before the last AWB was going for 100 after the ban was in effect. Not a bad investment and like some other folks here, I'm a magazine whore ;)

Let me ask you this, assault ban "ok" mags are 10 rounds or less right for handgun is that right?

So would it make sense to stock on springfield xd 45 13 round mags, or do you not forsee the extra 3 rounds being worthy of trade or high prices down the road

I think the extra value of 13 rounders will be in the event of a ban, the additional utility of 13 rounders over 10 will probably be questionable in a SHTF scenario. My favorite pistol is a 1911 and only uses 8 round magazines, and I don't feel handicapped with it versus my 17 round glock.

Either way I can generally hold 6" groups offhand at 25 yards, how many headshots will I need to make.

The use of a pistol will be limited to those situations where i can't have a rifle.

I am a magazine collector as well, have tons of AR, factory 20rd mini 14, and quite a few glock 17 in the standard capacity variety. Also keep plenty of 8rd ETM 1911 magazines from wilson combat.

Profit potential will be limited to assualt bans, but I doubt the value differential will be much when SHTF.
My weapon can kill, it isn't limited to mere assault

I want to throw a curve into this without offending. If and when it hits the fan, I don't think capacity will be the issue- money will. What was bringing $100.00 during the last ban won't be worth squat if our cash is useless. We've all discussed the monetary problem, our dollars just won't be worth anything if the gov't keeps printing it. A can of dog food will be barter for a family thats starving, not a high cap mag.

it's all releative who knows what a familly or someone will need or be willing to barter for.

They may be fine on food and offer you food for some mags or ammo, they may have a generator but no fuel, they may need a carb for a dirt bike they have and barter you a clip loaded with ammo, who knows

I think barter will be big

Thanks Saw, I appreciate that. The scariest thing is just what we've been discussing, what if you're money is useless? The more you've got in cash, the more you stand to loose. That of course is where barter becomes the way of life. Remeber the immortal Tina Turner.."Master Blaster runs Barter Town"...

Yeah Saw, that's what makes me sick. I'm in no way rich, but what I've got I've worked for, watched it go up, then fall way down, then back again...No matter what you do, it could be worthless in seconds. You just don't know what to do.

Supplies, supplies, supplies....that includes all the mags you can afford.......I don't even personally own any automatic rifles, but I pick up mags for popular ones when I find a bargain, 'cause they're great trade items, even pre-shtf.....;)

When I lived in australia you could buy a suppressor over the counter,no paper work, cheap. When the confiscation (voulantary turn-in) went into effect it was for anything with a pistolgrip, any semi/full-auto, or held more than 2 rounds. Some of those guns were sold by Queensland Police to drug gangs. Now the gangs get AK's direct from China with thier dope shipments and the typical Aussie with a single shot shotgun brags that he is well armed! The Aussie Govt simply disreguarded all previous satutes and guarantees of the PPl to have arms. Now if you get caught with any single piece of a firearm, even a piece of a wooden stock you go to jail. Don't think it can't, or won't happen here!

People will sell thier souls for the illusion of safety and continue to chant the matra "It's all for the greater good." up untill the moment the blade takes off thier head.
The entire world is flooded with REAL AK's selling for under $300.00 each, new. The RPG's and C-4 is already here in the US, smuggled in with dope.
The govt of Mexico is about to go under and release a torrent of Marxist/Muslim terrorists into the USA and Obamma's response is to re-lease Al-Queda into the USA and take our LEGAL guns away!
