This is actually one of the things we discussed in our breifing this weekend......

ALL of my COs are heavily against accepting ANY funds from Uncle Sam for the purpose of carrying out this type of scenario, and we've let the firm know, as well, that they will be heavily undermanned, should it become any kind of debate.

Kind of a messed up deal isn't it?

    Rusty,

I understand what you're saying, but there are lots of other things I can do without giving up my retirement. I hold other certifications and can very easily transfer back over to the FD where things like that couldnt be asked of me. Besides that, I have my own business on the side and if need be could get by with that alone. Just like Beebop, its a matter of principle to me....

I know that you are talking to ryan here, but I gotta say that my mind is made up. I'm not worried about a pension or a job. I can do many other things besides being a cop. There are still some people out here with principles and that are prepared to stick to them. I believe that you are a man of principle, and will have no problem sticking to them yourself.

Rusty, I can certainly understand what you're saying as well. Does anyone else feel like we're in a sinking ship, circling the drain?

It definitley make you cynical of people. I also believe that there is going to be a requirement for police officers to register all their guns eventually. It's too big of a loophole, the powers that be are bound to catch it.

It is one of the reasons I left Law Enforcement. That, and the money sucked, it was boring, and you never got to see the good in people, only the bad.
