Back in the good old days Market Hunters used small cannon loaded with bird shot, firing at flocks of feeding waterfowl from small boats. They also used very large nets along fly-ways to snare low flying birds. Nets and snares require less energy on the part of the hunter.

Kinda off topic here, but I saw a goose gun in a museum. It was a break open .22 LR. The barrel was similiar to a revolver cylinder, you loaded a dozen or more" Can't remeber the exact #" .22s and close it up. 1 pull of the trigger fired all rounds at once. That would be an awesome addition to any arsenal.SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE
