  • !!! New on Whitehouse website!!!

Ok that only took a couple of hours.
    Geeesh. :(

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole
(which doesn't exist. What they mean is end all private sales. ) and making guns in this country childproof. "keep them locked away" They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent. Surprise Surprise

I believe this is the insert statment before the complete introduction of the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing act of 2009:
              ‘‘(36) The term ‘qualifying firearm’—
              ‘‘(A) means—
              ‘‘(i) any handgun; or
‘‘(ii) any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device; and
‘‘(B) does not include any antique.’’
"Reject the basic assumptions of civilization, especially the importance of material possessions." "The things you own end up owning you"-Tyler Durden

My last research on this was any mags over 10 rnds for handguns and I believe rifles. Any long gun with a pistol grip. Any military "style" rifles to include ARs AKs and Mini-14s and any rifle mounted on an assault stock. Go to govtrack.us and look up H.R. 1022. This was introduced in 2007 and did not pass. It closely ressembles the original ban but with a few additions and I feel pretty sure that this is the bill that we will be looking at in the near future. To answer your question, yes...if you can afford it, buy it.

Semi-auto shotguns will also be banned under the "new" assault weapons ban.

It actually has to do with manufacture of NEW stuff. Under the old bill, the older stuff was grandfathered in.
