I carry a Kahr Arms PM9 with trim icon night sights and a viridian reactor 5 green laser). Its mechanism matches the Glock but it’s on a much smaller, lighter, much more concealable frame. It’s a 9mm. Kahr makes .40s & .45s. But forget your .40, just use expanding hollows in 9!

Tower, first and foremost, welcome to the site and the group. Please don't be a one post ghost.

Pistols are similar to shoes or no matter what the sales person tells you one size doesn't fit all..

To me, the most important items are how they point for me, trigger pull and of less importance an adjustable rear sight.
A recent addition was a CZ 75 B Ω as it has a very sweet trigger pull..

Picked up a Beretta 1951. The one I have fits me great. Took it out to the range, 3 mags later (8 rounds @) I'm hitting 4" steel squares at 15 m . I'll take that.

Years ago when I first shot IPSC I used a Browning Hi Power in 9mm, excellent pistol but limited to the upgrades that could be made, these days I prefer a 1911 style handgun, either a 5" or 4" barrel made of steel. As a young infanteer, I used to go shooting with my Sgt Major on Sports afternoons in Garrison, and he always told me "The only people that use plastic handguns are wimps, pimps, RCR's (members of the Royal Canadian Regiment), and people with alternate life styles!" Now would a Sgt Major lie?

LOL I was just on the coast to visit a Chicken Plucker (members of the Royal Canadian Regiment),! Added a Sig 225 to the collection. I need to locate the magazines, as I just picked it up before the GREAT FLOOD OF NOV 20 and 21. I cant find the box they were packed in, along with my tool heads and conversion kits for my Dillion 550 among many other things.

Actually when I did my tour in Egypt, a hundred years ago, I tried to bring an Egyptian copy of the Beretta M1951 back home with me. No joy though. Sorry to hear you got hit by the flood. I had lunch with my old boss a week back, his son had a house downtown and lost everything. My oldest and her family in Vic got really lucky, it barely touched them.

I was fortunate, water came up my driveway and retreated. My issue is what came up though my floor drain, claylike silty mud. I got about 10 cm of water, and a layer of that all over my basement. I'm covered by insurance as it's a sewage backup, vs flood. The cleanup/restore crew came and emptied the basement etc. They itemized a 76 page list of what all was tossed, weird stuff. My icefishing auger, my electric boat motor, are 2 head scratchers though
