Somebody dumped 2 suitcases and one ammo box full of 12ga shotgun shells in my dumpster at work. They have no corrosion and are boxed up so do you think they are safe to shoot?

Just to be on the safe side I would cut open one or two of the shells to see how they are loaded and with what. Old special forces trick is to load super hot shells then leave them laying around were bad guys find them and try to use them. The high pressure blows up the bad guys guns and causes collateral bodily injuries. I am not saying that the military did this, I am saying there are some crazy people out there. Or some one moved in to a new place and found them left behind and did not know what to do with them so they pitched them in your dumpster.

Even 12 gauge Shells are harder to find
Greetings all,
I just bought a Saiga 12, and have been in the process of trying to get some good home defense ammo for this very sweet shotgun, that's more AK47 on steroids, than shotgun.
Anyway, I have had MAJOR ammo shortage problems in my area, especially when attempting to purchase by the case. The ammo in stock is usually ultra expensive, and usually turkey loads. Ordering on line will soon not be an option, so, question is, where can I get some good 12 gauge shells in bulk, before being able to order it online is outlawed. *yes they are planning on massive restrictions in Ammo purchases*.
I am looking for 00, up to a max of #4 shot... preferably reloadable.
On a side note, I did get a nice 20 round drum for the bad boy today through the mail, before the ban... shame it was almost half the price of the gun, but, hell, who am I kidding, it's cool as hell. :D

A box of Win X-Steel, 3in, #2 High Speed Steel is about $12.99/box. Unfortunately, you cannot order online. As Zombie Axe would say...
"Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty."

Congrats on the Saiga! That's an awesome weapon.
For online ammo purchases I've had very good luck with:
Find new and used guns for sale at the largest online gun auction site GunBroker.com. Sell and buy firearms, accessories, collectibles such as handguns, shotguns, pistols, rifles and all hunting outdoor accessories. Shop Now.
I also use:
We have the best guns online at the best prices. Find great deals on new guns and firearms, boxes of ammunition, gun parts and accessories from top brands.
Bulk ammo for sale including surplus, Hornady, Winchester and many other brands. Cheap, in-stock pistol & rifle rounds with fast shipping today.
BTW
Get some Federal 00 with Flight control and put aside for special occasions. I can't say enough about this stuff. Here's a shot at 15 yards. The target is a 1 3/4" square inside of a 4 1/2" square printed on a standard 8 1/2" x 11" piece of printer paper. All 9 on the page. The second image was at only 5 yards. I don't think the payload ever left the shotcup. (Yep I pulled a little to the left:o)
Sorry I didn't get any longer distance shots, but I was using a pattern board at a local skeet range that wasn't really setup for target scenarios.
