I was down at Wally-World buying spray-paint ala' Big Saw and stopped by the sporting goods counter to check-out. The poor cashier was answering calls about ammo availability. His pistol ammo stock was sold-out of the popular calibers, down by 50% on the less popular stuff. he told me that he had just gotten an official notice that Wally's ammo stocks were depleted in eastern Oregon, Bi-Mart was sold out too. The store still had lots of 22LR and 12ga so I grabbed a brick of 22, I think I'm at pre Y2K levels of 22LR now.Last edited by kenno; 01-16-2009, 04:27 PM.

They were going for 1.2K at the last gunshow I was at in the Carolinas
It is supply and demand... the panic buyers are demanding the supply;)

Gun store madness
I went by a gun store today with a buddy, he wanted to buy a pistol. The store was packed with people, everybody buying something. Three out of four wanted a AR or AK of some sort. Dealer said there's none available. One guy wanted a new SIG 556, dealer said can't get 'em. Back orders for everything months out....They did have a pretty good supply of ammo, in bulk. Cases of .223, .40, 9mm, 7.62x39, .45, etc. Just watching the people made me nervous. Two guys came in and bought a case of .40, some Glock mags, and a few other items, heard the dealer say $400.00 and some change. At least some businesses aren't going under.Tags: None
