Here about inflation via ..>John Maynard Keynes...quoting Vladimir Lennin....

[quote] “Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and, while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security but [also] at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth.

Those to whom the system brings windfalls, beyond their deserts and even beyond their expectations or desires, become "profiteers," who are the object of the hatred of the bourgeoisie, whom the inflationism has impoverished, not less than of the proletariat. As the inflation proceeds and the real value of the currency fluctuates wildly from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery.

Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”

I have known this for over 30 years about inflation....sometimes called depreciation...loss in purchasing power of the monies...

And this is exactly what our government is doing to us now and accelerating...

    Be Warned........

It never occurs to the average television and or movie trained American......that we are being herded by a very deceitful...."Fallen" Government....who/which....clearly does not trust the American people to be armed........with anything period......

    What they call Assault Weapons.......Wow!!!!!

You have to be seriously kidding me....what a con job....and by both phony political parties........total lies and deception.....manufacturing bad guys...

Does it ever occur to the television and or movie trained mind...and soul......that the government has and uses/misuses one of the most destructive and devious....demonic assault weapons against the American people.......ever devised?????

    I am talking about Inflation.

Put away ESPN....and or the Kardashians.....and think outside the box of where and how someone wants and needs us to be herded like cattle......forever distracted...and never thinking.....

Once you catch it....you realize the King is naked.......the King has no clothes.

We shop at Costco and prices are up. Toothpaste used to have 5 tubes, now 4. Toothbrushes used to have 8, now 6. Slow Joe says I did that.
I have an appointment at the Anderson VA satellite; afterward, we'll check out Sam's. JimLE mentioned thick pork chops. Costco was sold out and I'm hoping Sam's will deliver.

OT, neither of us watch that crap unless it's a football game. When a commercial comes on, I select recall. LOL

The US Military does not have assault rifles or main battle rifles. AR stands for Armalite.

Georgia Senate seat is still open with a run off vote on 12/6. Warnock-D against Walker-R. The Senate depends on who wins.

Trump did a lot for America and Her people. His weakness is his mouth and a lying media.

Long before I got my Ham Ticket....I listened to short wave....still listen to short wave. It taught me how phony much of our media really is.

Trump was not playing so much to the International World agenda....which is why I believe they do not want him to run again...

And yes...I know what AR stands for..

I didn't mean you didn't know what AR actually states for.. I never saw the term MBR or main battle rifle until about 20 years ago online.

IMO, Trump was paying attention to the international agenda

Check out Putin's eyes when he looks at Trump as compared to the wimpy ones.

After a three year wait, the US becomes the first nation to leave the Paris climate pact.

The list goes on and on....

Same here. years ago many old school AM/FM radios included some of the SW bands.
My parents had one similar to this Grundig Nordmende Sterling Lectra radio and I still have it.

As back then, there wasn't any English broadcast lists, it took me hours to find stations. It finally stated humming and some day I'll rebuild it..

Yes...I remember my mothers olde Grundig radio ...vacuum tube similar to the one in your photo. I still have it up in my rafters of my garage.

I used to enjoy tuning it around the bands to see what was available. When we were often overseas the tv would not work there without being modified to the overseas tv systems as they used a slightly different system than what we used here in the states. Hence I often tuned in my mother's olde Grundig for entertainment.

Hey...no problem on the AR designation....no problem.

On a related topic..I never liked the AR rifles or the M16 when I was in uniform. Mayhap I should say I never quite took to them.

When I got to Keflavik Iceland and it came time to requalify at the range....it was the US Navy who ran the shooting range and issued out the weapons. To my surprise they issued me an M1 Garand....and when I put that rifle to my shoulder....Wow!!! We got two end bloc clips of caliber 30 US ammo and it was wonderful shooting that rifle.

It was a wonderful and more natural fit than ever was the M16 and or the AR rifle.

They were expensive on the civilian market, and it took me years to get one...

I verily like the M1 Garand and also the olde 1903 Springfield bolt action ..both in the same calibration.

            I reckon I am mostly a .30 caliber man.

Don't get me wrong here...the 5.56mm has its place...and I can reload for it..but never took to it like the .30 cals.

Currently tuned into 3.610 MHZ and hoping to run into my friend out in Tennessee.. If not there is tomorrow evening...

I like the AR Chassis, but the 5.56 has never been my prime choice for round. Sure you can carry a fair load out of them, but you have to wait till they are at spitting range vs other calibers. I'm a huge fan of 6.5 caliber, and while I'm not as stoked with the 6.5 CM I prefer the 6.5 SM over it. All 3 do a fine job!

The 5.56 worked just fine in the jungles of SE Asia and other places. Next was the sand box where long distance records were established.

I like the AR platform because a quality AR is very accurate.

I'd add the 6.8 SPC. I belong to a Vet's forum. One of the "squad" lives in Oregon. He's ex-Infantry served in the last DS. Brian dropped and elk at about +150 yards with it. He took pictures of the terminal ballistics and they were impressive. The 6.8 SPC is almost as BR accurate as the 6.5s and its terminal ballistics are almost as nasty as the 7mm.

I don't have the interest to jump into every new caliber that comes out. Here's a list 6mm BR, 6mm PPC, 6mm XC, 6mm ARC, 6mm, 6mm AR, and finally, the 6×45mm. Definitely a few, but not all of them put a butt whipping on the 6.5s.
If I wanted to add another caliber to the safe; it would be the 6mm ARC.

This link is a very good read:
The 6mm ARC is the most long-range capable caliber available in the AR-15 platform. It really shines when loaded in a bolt-action rifle.

All that is needed to create a 6mm ARC is a Grendel bolt, mags and 6mm barrel. Or basically, the 6mm ARC is a Grendel necked down to 6mm or .243..

The 6mm ARC was designed by Hornady to be the highest performance long-range cartridge available in a standard AR platform rifle. Initially tested and fielded by US Special Operations forces, the 6mm ARC utilizes efficient, high-BC bullets to deliver unprecedented long-range performance with a wide variety of available bullets.
Wilson Combat 6mm ARC rifles use 6.5 Grendel magazines/bolts; designed by Hornady to be the highest-performance long-range cartridge in a standard AR.

As SF was involved, it is sure bet that its terminal ballistics are devastating. However, today's world is too PC to mention terminal ballistics.

Where will the next war be is the question with the 6mm ARC, range doesn't matter.

The jungle war didn't require the same requirement to reach out. But saying that I wasn't there in the jungle, but rather the more expansive desserts/ forests of Afghanistan. After seeing the difference between the rounds, I have decided to have the Grendel. I haven't tried the ARC or anything else through the AR platform, and won't now.unless I zip to a range in the USA.

Years ago.....One of the pipefitters next to whom I was often working told me that in the US Army he was on a small river patrol boat...in Vietnam.

He also told me that in these boats....often they were up close with their M16 rifles. What he told me at the time was a bit stunning.....in that he did not like the M16 for what they were so often tasked to do in those small...light river patrol boats. His weapon/tool of choice was a Remington 870 Shotgun....00 Buck....particularly up against the smaller rivers and banks...tall grass and such...

I never forgot what he told me...

One of the pistols I have is a 14 inch barreled Thompson Contender. My first barrel for it was .223.

Though I cah reload .223/5.56mm....I have invested in another barrel in 7mm TCU ...for more energy down range. This calibration is not available in factory ammo today and I make my own by resizing .223 cases out to a neck diameter of 7mm/.284 and loading 129 grain bullets into it. Definitely more energy delivered down range.

There are also 14 inch barrels for it in 6.5mm and 6mm....all using the .223 case and necking it wider to accommodate

I can understand the wanting various 6mm and or 6.5mm set ups for long range shooting...as well as energy delivered down range..

                      AJ,
The problem with the the doctrine the West was they prepared for the next war based on the last war. One of the advances of today was computer CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics); it was invented to analyze the flow of water. It didn't take long for engineers to use it for air flow for cars, aircraft, missiles and bullets.

The pictures are computer simulations of a 3D model of bullet in flight. Shape can be modified using the 3D modelling software and speed using CFD.
In the URL of the picture above, the Litz refers to Brian Litz who invented the hybrid ogive and works for Berger Bullets.

                      FYI:

“Bryan Litz is the top external ballistics mind in the country, arguably the world.” –Eric Stecker, President of Berger Bullets Bryan’s passion for hitting targets started at

                      OT,
That was the Brown Water Navy.

The boats were heavily armed. Shotguns are great for certain applications their disadvantages were range and slow to reload. From what I know, the best use of a shotgun was when a PBY was searching a small boat.

When I buy a new caliber, I prefer to buy a box of ammo to shoot it until I get dies etc.

Yup I have to go to the range, whenever I swap between bullets I reload with. I do see a difference between the 3 major types Hornady ELD, PPU HPBT, & Lapua Scenars. Each of those get loaded as batches of 300+ to allow for the extra range work and resighting of the rifle. All 3 have different COALs, so my press gets a full adjustment by type. I'd love to not have to worry about it but accuracy requires it or why would i even bother. I hunt with AMAX and do those in 100 round batches, still have the first batch from 2 years ago.

As Berger Bullet's Bryan Litz invented the hybrid ogive; I'm not sure other manufacturers offer it.

The last statement in the image states the hybrid ogive has all the advantages (low drag/high BC) of the secant (VLD) and in many rifles is not sensitive to seating depth. That is stellar.
Berger offers 2 VLDs, their bullets in the orange box are for hunting and the yellow box are for target shooting.

To some extent M855, M193 will do and also 7.62x25 which is both effective and also inexpensive. Obviously, any real AP in .30 CAL or 7.62 NATO.

Or don't waste ammo shooting at the plate; shoot where the plate isn't.
