Second the Cold Steel med voyager. I have one on right now and love them. Very strong lock as well and light weight.
I carry a 5 inch voyager as well (yes two knives) but I like the serrated edge but thats me.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

My favorite is the CRKT M16-12ZER with a tanto style serrated blade. Cost is around $60.00 has a double blade lock that makes it practically as strong as a fixed blade. The zytel handle makes it really easy to grip if it's wet or sweaty. The Tanto blade is a little thicker and stronger than your typical spear point blade and it takes and keeps an edge really well. CRKT makes great knives, check 'em out. When shit hits the fan, dont be in the same room.

After going through many I have settled on a Gerber. I will have to look up the model #, since I have had it for many years. It is a perfect size, and weight. Keeps a very sharp edge. Opens very easily. The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is you are stupid, and make bad decisions.

I usually dont offer a lot on these threads that want to know what I am carrying or have on my night stand. It borders on security for my tastes, but on this one, I will offer something:
I was in Walmart around Christmas, and found this on an end cap for $10.00
It has the same steel and lettering as the chinese made Gerbers that they sell, but look at the brand on the blade if it is clear: Kershaw. I figured for $10 how could I lose?
So far it has been a good knife.
I have gotten used to having the attachments close at hand also.
Well spend $10.00"Oh, America. I wish I could tell you that this was still America, but I've come to realize that you can't have a country without people. And there are no people here. No, my friends. This is now the United States of Zombieland"

I spent some time visiting the Cold Steel booth at the NRA show. I really liked their thrower (spear point) with paracord wrap handle, but I hated the sheath. The sheath is what sold me on their tanto model. It doesn't have a compass, but otherwise, its just like your BK3 sheath. (Imagine your BK3 with a tanto point). You can mount it upside down on your alice pack shoulder strap, and the knife stays locked in even with the strap unsnapped!JASCHF (Just Another 6.8 Cal Hunting Fan)
