  • Homemade generators

After losing power for 5 hours yesterday, I sat down to think on how I could build a generator using things around the house. Thanks to google, here's what I found.

Yep, I'm going to try my hand at it as soon as I can get my grubby paws on a lawn mower. To be updated.

This is nothing short of freaking awesome. I had thoughts of building something similar to charge batteries using wind, but this is better...

              OK.....located a 10" x 4" x 1/4" piece of rectangle tube steel.....

              I found a old 200amp altenator from a Freightliner....for mock up purposes....

Found a old Craftsman 5.9 HP mower that the motor still runs.....

Found 4 different pulleys...hope one fits the engine shaft.....

New thread when I get started....:)
