This is a thread that belongs here in resources, although many may disagree with me. Today, I stopped in at my favorite fish/aquarium store as I do almost every day to flirt with the cute ladies behind the counter and to check out the new shipment of community fish. I got to chatting with one of the guys that work there and gave him one of the business cards I printed up for this website.
He said he was into this lifestyle also. I would have never known if I did not strike up a conversation. He said he would check out the site.
So, what am I getting at here? A lot of folks are preppers like us, but are quiet about things. You never know who or where you may find someone with like minds unless you chat with them. Engage folks in a "light" manner and see what they believe. If they freak out when you say you keep some extra stuff around the house in case of a storm, then they are the wrong "type". If they go nuts and talk about their bunker, and how they sit around with a tinfoil hat on getting messages from Maitreya about neutering themselves, and that they go to a commune on the weekend where the glorious leader leads them in White Night drills, they are probably the wrong"type". But most folks in between are the right type. Get them involved. GIve them a business card with this website on them. Find out what they are into. Maybe it is firearms, maybe reloading, maybe gardening, maybe cooking, maybe storing food for a storm, or burning down their BBQ pit (my personal favorite). There is a little something here for most sane folks. And, in my opinion, the more of our neighbors that are prepared in the event of a problem, the more secure we are living around them. Kind of like Russia using Poland as a buffer zone.
