We will make our stand right here right now.

All of our plans involve staying here. After going thru Hugo we learned valuable lessons.

Since then we have worked on setting up things so that we can survive here. The place is defensible. We have water, well and pond. I have wired the electrical so that we can use the generator for the well and house. I keep about 60 gals. of fuel on hand. I have extra chains for the chain saw. Axes and mauls for splitting the wood. Also can sharpen my chains.

Over the years we have fine tuned things when we had ice storms and no power for 7 to 10 days. My wife buys TP and such on sale and keeps us stocked up. We have a years supply of food on hand. Vegetable seeds for 5 years of gardens.

All in all I think we can hold out here for as long as necessary. We are too old and sturbbon to move. When we bought this land 20 years ago, we moved out of the city and decided this is where we will die.

This is home and here we will stay.
You can't get here from there. ;)

    good for you!
I plan on staying put, too.

are you prepared for hurricane damage (losing a roof?) We haven't been hit by a hurricane in 20+ years, but I'm a little concerned about flood damage (I'm less than 10 feet about sea level, though inland about a 1/2 mile)

While we're rural...we know wwe're too close to a city to hang out for too long, should SHTF....so we've got main local rally BoL, and a good net growing nation wide for support...

I am out of here. Midland/Odessa would be a dangerous place without any kind of structure in place.

We don't plan on leaving. We are homesteading 2,yes 2 acres.lol. We have been here only a few years but see potential in what we have.We are NOT ready for ''anything'' ,but we are prepared for almost ''anything''. We are completely surrounded by poeple we do not know well,if at all. I tell my wife we have nothing to ''back up to'' living here.Where I was raised it got dark at night, here I can see street lights in every direction.I am not scared but concerned about all the neighbors.Currently I am fortifying our property line to keep things both in and out.
Our BOL is in the "back yard'' of where I was raised. It will be where we make our ''final'' stand.
I would rather deal with whatever comes our way, from home instead of going through thousands of peolple in town to get to my BOL.

I'm staying! If I can talk Kimber in to buying the property around me they'll have to get thru him first! That's my plan!

With my parents and their medical conditions I'll be here. I'm on family land that I know well. While I'd love to be able to move out quick, the logistics are nearly impossible.I've discussed this with my family and this is where we'll rally and defend. My dad said we'd have to guard our garden - and he's almost blind.

In most of the scenarios I have run through my head, there are a few which would make me leave, but most have me ROOTED in...

Don't figure it will be any better anywhere but here... I got agriculture, permaculture and a plan for livestock...

Never can say never... but that is the way it looks:D

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

Head east Rusty. Seems to be more of us here in the Carolinas than out there. We have water and trees too! :D

                      You'd be welcome here!

I think you guys had better head NorthWest.....AWAY from the hotzones...lol.....

I wouldn't take a single step East in any scenario other than a Western attack front...which is pretty unlikely....

I agree with you Saw. I would head to the midwest and northwest. These are the the least populated area and also the areas that you will find the most like minded people. I think that you would be welcomed if you don't show up empty handed.
As for me, I will make my stand here as long as possible, then bug out, hopefully and at the right time. If I can figure out when that is.

Actually I'm referring to hotzones as BEL....

The closer you are to the East coast in any SHTF scenario, the more likely you are to come under the thumb of the feds or invaders...and you'll likely be outgunned, outnumbered, and without a decent rally point so close to the front....

                              Just my $0.02.
