A message from the commo moderator

Just was informed that I won the lottery and wound up being the communications forum moderator ;)

I have been a ham for over 10 years and have always viewed communications from the Survival and Preparedness perspective. So I tend to look at the subject from that set of lenses :cool: My expertise is not limited to just ham radio either...

So if you got any questions about ANYTHING commo related I will do my best to answer your questions. There are no stupid questions just UNANSWERED questions.

Congratulations. I think the communications are often over looked. It is good to have some one with your knowledge at the helm.

Agreed Omegaman! It is very easy to overlook commo as long as the cell phones, landlines, vonage, and internet are working!

I also meant to add that I work in the telecom industry (11 years) as well, so I understand how fragile it can be:rolleyes:

When the telecommunication network fails ,whether it is just in you area, regional or nationwide, there is suddenly a glaring hole in your ability to recieve info or transmit it:eek: So one needs to have alternative methods in place :)
