Cool deal GH :) You must be one of them there fast code extras;) Sounds like where I want my setup to be in a few months. I got the battery bank it is just grid tied trickle charged for now... can deploy the solar panels if needed so within a few hours I can be totally on solar :cool:

General, NE Texas. Close enough to hit some DFW repeaters though. I got my ticket in '04 and upgraded at HAMCOM in '08. I don't talk much on VHF and have yet to use my HF gear for anything other than monitoring and testing, but I do have the license and capabilities.
Own too many radios to even remember, mostly Motorola commercial gear (Jedi-series HTs and Spectra mobiles) that I get for free when agencies turn it in to my friend's shop. Main amateur rigs are an Alinco DX70 and Yaesu FT8900.

Well this is my first post. I just joined the forum today. My call is W4OCO, Extra class ticket. Been in the hobby since 1975 and work mostly CW. It's and intersting hobby. easy to work the world with low power and a wire antenna.
