Note from a revived Senate bill on 28-Aug-09... check out FoxNews.com ...since I cant post URLs as the system says I havent made 15 posts or more... /politics/2009/08/28/senate-president-emergency-control-internet/
" Details of a revamped version of the Cybersecurity Act of 2009 show the Senate bill could give the president a "kill switch" on the Internet and allow him to shut out private networks from online access. "
Im wondering if this actually would be doable... although they do this in other countries such as China, Im not sure if its doable here in the States...
Although there are only a few key HUBS that most traffic is routed thru.. probably wouldnt be too hard to flip em to the 'off' position....
But it does give one pause to consider 'alternative' communications methods for our survival thru this so called 'emergency' our President might invoke.....
Thoughts?
