I applied to be the new partner, but someone must have blabbed on me...something about Tickle Me Elmo Dolls and Hello Kitty backpacks not making for good tv.....

the best part of the show to me has always been Cody' s sense of humor....

Okay, 50 minutes in, first impression..... First, thank you joe for your service.

Second, this episode has been mostly to establish Cody as the mistic guru, and Joe as an uber version of Dave. Fine. Got it.
And maybe this was necessary with such a major shift in staff, but I hope this format is only for the first introductory episode.

So Joe, please don't spend every other episode talking about "this one time back in band camp" LOL What I mean is, I don't need you to constantly justify yourself. Either you know your sh!t or you don't. And believe me, if you don't, there are a lot of folks who will spot it no matter how many times you reference the adventures you swore not to talk about, but constantly refer to.......

Third, I know the episodes are already in the can, but one thing the old version had was a natural banter between Cody and Dave. In the new episode so far it seems forced. They are arguing when Cody and Dave would have argued, but it seems forced and scripted. Maybe it's just me....... I hope the next episode they just forget the past, forget the cameram and relax and find a natural pace and banter.....

I will watch a few episodes though.....

I don't like Joe, he seems really mean. Cody has that dad like aura, I really like him. I liked Dave too, he seemed to play off Cody really well.

It seems like the show has started over. Cody and Dave had learned to work together, and had gained mutual respect for each other's skills. There were certainly differences of opinion, but in the later years they were more respectful of each other.

Cody and Joe just seem to argue, but neither to want to acknowledge the other's skills. The arguments get tedious. I will watch, but it tests my patience.
