  • The Road, Movie

If you still have any of those Mad Max tendencies or romanticised fantasies of action adventure, honor and glory in the post SHTF world this movie will put them to rest.
A father and young son journey to the coast in search of "something" trying to avoid roving gangs and looking for the most meager scrap of food. Very depressing and dark.
I will not watch it again, but I do reccomend you watch it. Probably as realistic as it gets.

I made my wife watch it so she would have a better understanding of what I'm trying to do. Don't know if she got it, but I have to try.

Yeah the book was definitely better. Either way though, definitely shows you why you might wanna spend a little time prepping. I think Mags might've done a little better than Vigo Mortenson did in that movie.

I just watched it. The most depressing damn thing I have ever seen. Two bullets? Like you said, makes you glad to be a prepper. After I watched I started polishing my guns and being thankful.

After watching this movie and seeing what the "gangs" are doing to survive I have begun to look closer at the people around me. I am really wondering who would be friend or foe in a SHTF situation. When there is no law and order and it is survival of the fittest who can I trust ? Did not do much for my faith in humanity.

Nakadnu, I agree completely. I would say that the answer is "nobody". It hurts to say that, but we just don't know how people will act in such a situation. I lost faith in humanity a long time ago. I am nice to people and will do what I can to help in any bad situation. I will keep doing that as long as someone doesn't try to hurt or take from me or mine. I had just as soon be vaporized in the first nuclear blast than to have to face the aftermath, but that is up to God I guess.
