I've seen it before and rather enjoyed it, I would recommend everybody check this out.
Sometimes I wonder if I could live my entire life being the neutral, all observant being. The gray man. We’ll see.

        Howdy, Bayou!

I've never been to the West Coast, nor have I seen this movie before. *Phew!* People in L.A. must be some real ace-holes to break down in civility within minutes of a nuke attack. I hope there are some West Coasters here that don't live up to that impression.

Considering the movie was first screened back in 1962, I think it was ahead of it’s time. It shows what happens when people are unprepared to handle a crisis situation. How poor planning and preparedness can have dire consequences. L.A.’s population was much smaller and more widely dispersed than today. If a similar scenario would happen today I think the outcome would be quite different nationwide. The family’s outcome would have been different. I enjoyed watching it and putting myself in their shoes. Got to hand it to the father, (Ray Miland) at least he had the sense to foresee what was going to happen even if they started out unprepared. It should be a wake up call to the sheeple.

Excellent movie was just a kid when I first saw it. It scared me into my way of thinkin that I have now. So the impact on me stayed strong. I hadn't even thought of it exactly, for many years.

                  Panic in the Year Zero

Just watched it. Except for the melodrama in parts, it is a good reminder of what "can" happen when you are not ready for it. Hopefully ours will not be a nuclear attack, but the results are just as possible. Points out that it never hurts to be "prepared for the worse and hope for the best."
