being with groups not only means in-fighting, but the increased noise, movement, "sign" of having a group means that it's easier for enemies to detect you and your group has enough stuff to make another group want to take over what you have, enslave you, etc. The old saw about " you gotta sleep" means nothing when you have a dugout shelter. Enemies cannot harm what they cannot find. For 30 years, the Viet Cong used tunnels to fight the Japanese, then the French, then the US. They won, too. Get into your little tunnel and sleep there during daylight hours. With night vision, a day/night scope, armor, a silenced autorifle, subsonic ammo option, people will be well-advised to leave you be.
