  • My Daughters Future

I have a little girl that is 1 1/2 years old.
I am very concerned about her future. Not in a case where TSHTF, but in normal every day life. I am looking at the young men today between the ages of 16 to 25 and have realized that this Country has quit producing men. (I know that there are some exceptions) My daughter will more than likely marry a man some day that will not be able to grow any thing, kill anything, or fix anything around the house. He will be able to reach level 9,765 on some game on XBox, but who gives a crap about that. I am glad to say that I am aware of the problem that I will be facing, and will be trying to teach her everything that I can. Even the things that were not traditionally taught to little girls. She will be wearing the pants in her future family.
    Any thoughts.....

I face the same problem w/my 8y/o. I do my absolute best to give her examples of what a real man is, and what a real man is not.....hopefully she will follow the age-old tradition of marrying a guy like her old man. I like to think I was a fair catch.

Train her up, man. Lead by example.

I had to laugh when I read that.
My stepdaughter was living with this guy in Ohio who was a carpenter
and basically lived in the basement playing world warcraft or one of those games, I don't really know anything about them.

He would literally play them for 4-6 hrs when he got home from work.
I got to thinking what a loser he was but He is actually a nice guy to talk to.

Anyway, he gets my stepdaughter pregnant, loses his job as a carpenter, ends up getting a DUI about 2 weeks later coming home from a poker game at a friends house.

His license is suspended until he pays the fines, but he doesn't have any money and is driving around anyway...

Anyone care to guess how this story ends??
Or at lease where it is now... about a year later... go ahead..come up with a scenario... let's see how close you are. ;) :D

      Peace

The XBox game he reached level 9,765 on was Grand Theft Auto; He now considers himself a master carjacker, an expert driver, an un-catchable evasion artist, and is sitting in a jail cell wondering how he ended up there, while the woman and child he should be caring for are now back living with Mom and Dad.

Or he could be a successful video game debugger.....

          Interesting.
Anyone else have some creative scenarios? This could be fun.

I'm in the middle of it with a 20 year old and a 22 year old.
The oldest seems to have been lucky enough to finally find a good one. He's 23, a toyota mechanic, into guns, and saved 23K since he got his first job...just bought a house!
The youngest is dating a decent guy, in college, but a bit immature.
I've had to set a few of the boys straight over the years. Reminding them that I am "sir" until further notice...that my fridge door may be opened by invitation only...my daughters do NOT walk out of the house unescorted just because you're too lazy to get out and come to the door...you WILL knock on my door rather than simply walk in like this is YOUR home...if your pants ride lower than an inch below your navel this will count as strikes 1, 2, and 3...you are out!...if you call the home phone, or my daughter's phone, past 11pm...you'd better be dying and desperately trying to reach her before your final breath.
I could go on and on....but God help you guys if things don't get any better!

I still have a bit of faith...
He got his second DWI, wised up, changed careers, still paying finacially for his mistakes, she's helping with that, but he has learned his lesson and he has shocked you by being a really good father.

Actually, I don't find good fathers shocking, I find them uplifting....I find ***hole fathers shocking.

Anywayz....good to hear it....sometimes real men are born from fire and failure, and are all-the-more better for it.

The previous post was merely my instructions...if followed...they renew my faith:D

I didn't start out as a harda**....the lack of respect, manners, and consideration made me that way. If the young man is lacking these in my presence....God knows what he's like once he leaves with my daughter.

If anyone has seen the movie "Uncle Buck" and remember the scene with the hatchet, and the scene with the electric drill being used on the locked door, you get the idea of my behaviour.
