I have danced to that music a time or two also Dale. Still got all my fingers and toes."Oh, America. I wish I could tell you that this was still America, but I've come to realize that you can't have a country without people. And there are no people here. No, my friends. This is now the United States of Zombieland"

I'm sorry where did the fishing come in to the picture.
Sticking your hand, arm, and shoulder under muddy water into a hole trying to get a cat fish to grab you is just plain nuts! (My opinion)
Fishing is a sport where the fish has to have as much a chance of being caught. as just passing by your bait and hook. It is a challenge, and many different ways to attract fish to your line have been developed.
But you have to learn how most of the time by fishing with your father.
There is only one other time where a father passes on his experiences to his kids, and that is when hunting. Many other subjects could be brought up about passing on experiences; but fishing tops the list followed by hunting.
Any one disagree?

My brother-inlaw does this. I went out with him and a few other guys, I tried it and its not that bad as long as you can touch the bottom. I didnt catch anything, but some of them did. My brother-inlaw told me to not get ahold of a blue, apparently they can tear up your hand and arm.

Done hand fishing as a kid. we would go down to a little creek and you could see the brook trout sitting in the deep pools. about knee deep. You just stand still and have your hands in the water waiting for the fish to swim thru your arms, then up you go flipping the fish on to the shore. It was fun. That was in Wisconsin.
Down here in Florida I would never go into water with gators and snakes all around. Now they are talking about the Python snakes in the trees. They caught one 1/4 mile from where I live this summer. It was 12 feet long.

I won't go hogging fish. I heard about a kid down south hogging fish stuck his arm in the water to reach in a log and suddenly pulled it up screaming with like 5 water moccasins hanging off of it. He barely lived through that incident. No thanks! I'll use a line and pole or some kind of net to get my fish to shore.
