Caught the advertizzzment for it. Either they picked (or that was all that was willing this go around to participate) some real fringe types to feature. I'm almost glad they've tossed in "Dooms Day" into the title. Helps differentiate the fringe from the folks. At any rate, and conspiracy theories aside, I'd hope they're doing this only for ratings. Bold and Brash pumps ratings.

Okay, can't help it. With government funding, it seems to me that it would be beneficial to make preppers out to be lunatics. Maybe the show is one way of re-conditioning the public who are starting to (or have been) prepping. Show wacko fringe preppers, and subliminally say "see, this is what you'll become, and this is how you'll be viewed by normal people."

The pilot was much more mainstream, with more down to earth types, mostly. Southern Prepper and Engineer... to me they represent normal preppers. Anyways...

Most of the so called "reality" shows that have aired seems to be a bit dramatic. I plan on watching this one and will keep my mouth shut until I actually see the show. Though the previews seem to deal with some who have gone overboard...time will tell...

Thanks for the heads up, might have missed it! Most TV shows these days are sensationalized for the 'shock' value, even the weather channel! Yes they tend to show fanantics, but yes, info is info!
I like to watch Doom & Gloom movies too, always seem to pickup something 'Stupid Not To Do' thing at least! hahahahaha The movie Contagion was good, shows how fast things can really go down!

This show along with the colony series as well as survival adventure network and dave canterbury have good ideas and some of the shows are a lot of show but ill take all of these kinds of shows I can get. somewhere someone has thought of something I have not. on the nat geo page it talks about which kind of event will be the end ill have to go with economic.

I DDR ed it last night and look forward to watching it tonight . I agree with you longrangehuntr some where some one has thought of something that I have not and I want that info or idea .

I was thinking the same thing. "According to our experts, practical preppers, you need to..." Who are they and who decided whether they were "practical"? As opposed to impractical I guess...
