Dale, it is easier than that even. His homemade fiberglass armor failed. That's why he changed to the steel sheet and expanded metal design. And when they shot him with the shotgun, it was at a steep angle so it wouldn't kill the moron, and it still mangled his "armor". A 30-06 or any of the 30 caliber choices would easily defeat his home-made crap armor.

Shoot, he is so obese and chunky, put 100lbs of body armor on him and I can defeat him with a trip wire! LOL Then when dough-boy is laying on his face trying to climb to his feet.......

Anyway, I am amazed that he went on tv and made those claims.

I agree with all the posts. I did watch the show. I'm not sure who was dumber: the numbskull who wanted to do the C-section, or the wife who would let him do it. Obviously no concept of what is sterile, or the complications of the procedure.

I would really like to see him fall over in his armour. It would be so worth it to see him try to get up.

I have no idea what the producers are thinking when they put a moron like that on the air (other than ratings). I doubt if they thought it this way, but IMHO this guy is a joke, but there are many others out there like him who are not a joke, and will be an absolute threat. Maybe the message was subliminal, but I doubt it.

I have long thought that the producers are more interested in the weirdness and shock value of portraying the crazy survivalist than they are in telling the truth of who we are. This guy is just a more obvious example of them taking the lowest caliber example. Shoot, if all I knew about "preppers" was what I saw on this show, OF COURSE I would hope the government kept them in line.

My gun has a laser. Bet I could shoot him between the eyes. But then if he saw the laser pointed at him he would more than likely turn tail and run. (I hope) other wise to bad so sad.

I just saw the episode this morning ( had it on the dvr ) , this guy is no threat at all !
By being on the show he has put himself and his little freinds on the grid and I am sure that not only has his local law enforcement aware of him but now all of his neighbors are as well and in the event of a SHTF situation he will not last long .
But on a personal note , I did get a huge laugh out of his "body armor" and his idea of doing a c-section on his wife !
Two in the head and you know they are dead

About 15 years ago I attended a conference on disaster preparations for government and the individual. These was over a 3 day event with various seminars held dealing with some of the basic that we talk about here all the time. Food, Water, Security, Medical, Comm. to name a few. I was getting tired of hearing about how much red wheat some one had in storage that I noticed that a blond lady about 23 in a mini dress was sitting near me taking notes at each seminar.

During one of the breaks to eat 5 of us went to a cafe down the street. We sat down continuing talking about individual preps in the home. This young and I admin a woman with all the curves in the right places came in. She sat next to us, and listen for about 20 minutes. Someone finely asked her what was her preps. Now here I Quote"... I'm taking nothing with me other then what I have on. Any number of guys will open their doors for me when I knock without knowing my name. I plan of exchanging ([email protected]) for security" You should of seen the lowers jaws drop including mine. Never thought of that!!!!!

True story happened in 1998. Fall Expo in Washington DC held by FEMA. I was there.

I know I am 2 months late getting to this, its been a busy time for us.
I just watched this show last week with my wife, and we both laughed till our sides hurt! We don't have TV or any other way to watch this other than youtube or sometimes hulu.

An Apex predator? more like a Krispy Kreame predator or big mac hunter! He makes me look very thin by comparison. What's really bothersome is that there are actually some fools out there that think like that!! And even more fools willing to follow those fools!!
What I cant understand is why any real prepper would be on such a show? Your OPSEC is screwed!! Now people will know who you are and what your doing! This fool is now known and people are not happy with him. There is a lot on the web about him, how he started his survival group called Spartan survivors or something like that, and that he might be an "Oath Keeper". If he is an Oath keeper, does that meen this fat fool was once in the military? Good God I pray not!!

There are plenty of youtube responses about this fool and he has received lots of death threats on his facebook page which has been taken down. Shortly after this show the whole Doomsday Prepper show season 3 has been canceled. There is another youtube prepper 7trumpets or something like that who was sueing them for taking his drones and giving them to another prepper to use. Its all convoluted, but its also done.

For what its worth, I thought they started out with a good idea in season 1. Season 2 went crazy from the start, and season 3 was full blown freak show. Its what got the ratings/viewership. That's the holy grail for any show! If the people want full blown freak show, then they will get it and make the rest of us look just as freaky. It went from educational to "look at those dooms day prepper freaks!"

Some good news from all this is, even my wife is now more open to prepping. She is getting some good ideas and is giving me more freedom to do more prepping.

Will there ever be a show about prepping/survival that is true and factual about what we do? Nope. I don't think there ever will be a show that is real to preppers because there is not enough crazy to sell. That's good news for us!
So, Doomsday preppers, doomsday bunkers and now Doomsday Castle needs to go down some deep dark memory hole!

Back to our preps and keeping OPSEC!!

Have to agree with you Doc. This season has gone way past ridiculous. These people have way more money than good sense. The gadgets have gotten more and more elaborate, and expensive. I can't even imagine what it would cost to build some of these things. Money would be much better spent on extra food, water systems, off-grid energy solutions, etc. There was no episode in my area this week, so maybe it has been pulled. It is unfortunate because there were some good people who had a lot to offer. Why do they have to make it a freak show?

True preppers would just never get high enough ratings.

Well, I just read an update on the "apex predator". And it is well worth reading.

Doomsday Preppers started out okay, but now they are showing people doing some STUPID stuff. I can not support any show that teaches people to be unsafe with firearms and or explosives. This show will eventually be sued for teaching kids that it is okay to "test" a home made bullet proof whatnot. After all, adults did it on tv and they are okay,........ right?

They also made it look like one guy was shooting over his son's head with a Barrett .50 cal and blowing up a car while his son was high crawling away. I made contact with the guy that was shown doing that, and really gave him a piece of my mind. He said that what they showed never happened. The producers took several unrelated shots and made it look like he shot over his sons head.

I will NEVER watch that show again.

Well I hope that is one nut case off the street. I have to agree, the show is getting very stupid, nothing that would help in real life.
