If this biography below is correct, his father was Jewish, but his mother wasn't. Also, since he espouses Jew-hatred, Zhirinovsky would be best described as a "self-hating half-Jew."

He used to be the leader of a Jewish organization in Russia. I do not remember the name of it, but it was something like the Russian Jewish Nationalist party, or something like that. I also think his father was not Russian, but was a Polish-Jew. If my memory serves me correctly. Maybe not Polish, maybe it was Ukrainian. It has been a while since I kept up on the major movers and shakers in the Russian political scene.
